An access log is a detailed list of all the files which were accessed by the visitors of a given site. Every file that was requested for whatever reason shall be listed, so if you have only one webpage with three embedded graphics, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log will contain a total of six entries - one for every of the six files which were accessed when the site visitor opened the page. A log typically offers the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s OS, web browser and IP address. In some cases you may also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The info an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It can be processed by special software on a desktop machine and used to write reports on the performance of a website, besides the web statistics that your hosting server may have created.
Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting
Our in-house built Hepsia CP includes a section focused on various logs and the access logs are among them. As soon as you sign in to your cloud hosting account and go to this section, you will find a list of all the domain names and subdomains that you have. All it takes to permit the generation of access logs is to press a button which will be available next to each domain/subdomain. If the option is enabled, you shall see a download link as well as the file size so far, so you shall be able to save the file to your PC and view it or process it with some program. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect right away, so if you don't need one, you could stop it with just a click from the same exact section of the Control Panel. You shall still have the ability to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.
